Introducing
the TERRORMA – a unique concept combining illustration, sculpture and circuit
design to produce one-of-a-kind art objects.
Each
TERRORAMA scene depicts an eerie locale, rendered in forced perspective so the
scene appears much deeper to the eye than the real physical proportions of the
object allow.
Through
careful design and workmanship, the TERRORAMA comes to life of its own accord,
responding to the environment around it.
When night falls, the scene becomes illuminated – perhaps by moonlight,
miniature lanterns, or ambient streetlight.
When the temperature drops, a fireplace may light; when it increases, a
sickly glow may illuminate the location.
If a
storm is brewing outside, this is reflected in the TERRORAMA too – lightning flashes
outside of the windows in the scene; trapdoors become agitated and begin to
move, or perhaps a sack hung from the ceiling begins to twitch
mysteriously. Bulkhead lights turn on
and off; objects may move, experiments can illuminate or behave erratically. The
noirish, monochromatic nature of the scene begins to be drenched in primary
colours as the light spills out…
None of
these features are triggered by accident, or by human intervention. The TERRORAMA constantly reads its
environment and begins to respond to its new home. Careful observation may allow the viewer to discern
exactly what breathes life into the scene, but only the TERRORAMA knows for
sure.

Each TERRORAMA has, at it's heart, a captured geist. Trapped forever in a special ecto-chamber - no bigger than a fuse - the geist 's spirit remains locked in the box, powering the spiritual weirdness that is the soul of the experience we call TERRORAMA.
Factors
beyond our own senses tease responses out of the TERRORAMA, as if it has a life
of its own…
Each
TERRORAMA is hand crafted and is unique to it’s owner. A range of designs will be offered and a
model can be commissioned from one of these templates, but the end result will
always be subtly different from any previous incarnations.
Preserved in a wooden frame and trapped behind a glass screen, the TERRORAMA is a sealed
unit, powered from a mains supply. It
may be wall mounted, or free-standing on a shelf, and will breathe creepy life
into any room.
