Doodlemonkie's recruitment into a fascinating world that we all live around, but never see...

Sock Horror is the collective term for the investigations of a mysterious and enigmatic scientist known as Madame Horror.

For some time, Madame Horror has been capturing and cataloguing a mysterious breed of creature whose only remit seems to be the procurement of socks from our world.  You could say it is their sole purpose.

Learning of Doodlemonkie’s knowledge in the field of folklore and crypto zoology, Madame Horror offered to share her findings with the pensive primate in return for his assistance and wisdom on the matter.  Needless to say, after studying the phenomenon together for a number of months, he was compelled to join her in this pioneering study, not least because of what was at stake if mankind ignored the threat of this strange new foe.  In fact, he now dispenses with socks altogether, having developed what Madame Horror simply describes as ‘The Fear’.

A series of illustrated essays by Madame Horror and Doodlemonkie - the Sockmosis cycle - have been drafted and are in production.  Some of the content of this can be previewed on the Sock Horror website, but for a taster, Doodlemonkie is proud to showcase (below) some of the illustrations used in these volumes.
